Unique Auto-flip feature in new Axis Pan/Tilt/Zoom network camera allows 360 degree panning surveillance
Product Profile
AXIS 215 PTZ Network Camera is a Pan/Tilt/Zoom camera that provides full 360 degree panning by the use of the new and unique Auto-flip feature. The highly compact AXIS 215 PTZ is perfect for the indoor surveillance of shops, reception areas, schools, offices and other places that require both overview and zoom functionality.
AXIS 215 PTZ also features automatic day and night functionality, 12x optical zoom, 4x digital zoom and autofocusing. Simultaneous MPEG-4 and Motion JPEG video streams at resolutions up to 4CIF allow for optimised quality and bandwidth usage. Pre- and post-alarm image buffering, video motion detection, as well as scheduled and triggered event functionality with alarm notification all combine to create an effective solution for indoor monitoring. Two-way audio support enables remote users not only to view, but also listen in on an area and communicate orders or requests to visitors or intruders, thereby increasing the monitoring options. AXIS 215 PTZ also supports audio alarms, making it possible to detect the noise from intruders even in the dark.
All PTZ cameras have a mechanical stop that prevents the camera from panning the full 360° degrees and thereby breaking the cables between the camera and the main board. This means that following e.g. a person walking behind the camera will not be possible - you will only see them when they appear in the camera's angle of view. The unique Auto-flip feature reverses the pan direction whenever the camera reaches the mechanical stop at 180° and does so in about in 1 second. Auto-flip means the AXIS 215 PTZ has no blind spots and is suitable for mounting in the centre of the ceiling.
The comprehensive set of network security features in the AXIS 215 PTZ includes multi-level password protection, IP address filtering and HTTPS encryption.
The AXIS 215 PTZ is supplied complete with all indoor mounting accessories (a separate housing is available for outdoor use). The product is supported by the industry's largest base of application software through the Axis Application Development Partner program, as well as the AXIS Camera Station video management software. The AXIS 215 PTZ is now available through Axis distribution channels.
