Honeywell recently introduced the first in a series of alarm communications radios compatible with Verizon’s wireless network, giving security dealers more options to expand their businesses in alternative cellular coverage areas.

The new CDMA-X Radio with Verizon 1XRTT technology supports Honeywell Total Connect Remote Services® and alarm signal transport for fire, burglary and status messages. It comes pre-activated and is remotely upgradable, allowing for a faster installation and lower maintenance costs.

Compatible with Verizon wireless network

The new line of radios from Honeywell will leverage Verizon’s wireless network, which is based on Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) technology. Radios registered via AlarmNet Direct can be activated in all Verizon and Verizon partner coverage areas, helping dealers increase their wireless footprint and speed up installations.

“With the connected home becoming more mainstream, our dealers rely on us for solutions that broaden their potential customer base,” said Dean Mason, Senior Communications Product Manager, Honeywell. “Adding the CDMA-X radio to our line of GSM communicators offers a competitive advantage in today’s marketplace — giving dealers more choices, providing more coverage and helping them reach more consumers.”

The CDMA-X radio is compatible with Honeywell VISTA® control panels and provides security dealers with an opportunity to earn additional recurring monthly revenue (RMR) with Honeywell Total Connect.
