Arecont Vision launches compact MegaVideo JPEG series of cameras
Arecont Vision's popular MegaVideo® JPEG line is now available in compact form
Arecont Vision, the industry leader in IP-based megapixel camera technology, recently announced the launch of their new compact JPEG series of cameras in 1.3, 2, 3 or 5 megapixel formats. These CMOS sensor cameras were designed to address cost sensitivities in the JPEG market as well as the size constraints of environmental housings. Although the compact cameras are approximately half the size and one-third lighter than their MegaVideo® full size counterparts, the new line offers identical picture quality, frame rates, image processing and many core functionalities as the full size units.  These cameras have been completely redesigned to allow for significantly lower price points while maintaining performance.

Equipped with on camera motion detection and 64 zone capability, the cameras provide custom programmable resolution, brightness, saturation, gamma, sharpness and tint. Ideal for installations in environmental housings where a lighter, more space-saving design is required. The Arecont Vision Compact JPEG cameras function via PoE, eliminating the need for auxiliary power. In addition to colour and day/night models, all Arecont Vision Compact JPEG cameras feature Moonlight™ mode: an extended exposure and proprietary noise cancelling feature.

"Our goal was to design and implement a compact camera that offered equal performance and nearly identical feature sets to our existing JPEG MegaVideo® line at price points set to match or beat VGA prices to assure no-cost-penalty megapixel selection for cost sensitive projects.  Our new compact series provides the same exceptional image quality, low light sensitivity and fast frame rates that customers enjoy with all our products." said Dr. Michael Kaplinsky, CEO, Arecont Vision. "This new offering further expands what is already the broadest megapixel product line in the industry."

Arecont Vision's Compact JPEG 1.3 megapixel models (AV1310 and AV1310DN) and 2 megapixel models (AV2110 and AV2110DN) hit a new low price point for branded, full featured megapixel cameras, and are now available for purchase. Additionally, the 3 megapixel (AV3110 and AV3110DN) and 5 megapixel (AV5110 and AV5110DN) models reach new competitive price points for Arecont Vision, and will be available in February of 2010.
