MDI's VIEWpoint™ Surveillance Management™ solution selected for Bank Security project in the Middle East

MDI, Inc., the leading manufacturer of Unified Technology^™ solutions for the security industry today announced that it's VIEWpoint^™ Surveillance Management^™ products, built on ONE^™ Unified Technology^™, have been selected by a financial institution group located in the Middle East.  The customer, who has chosen the unified system to deliver video security in the past, selected MDI based on its ability to deliver the right surveillance management solution requirements needed across each institutional branch.

VIEWpoint Enterprise Surveillance Management (ESM) rack-mounted appliances, with internal storage reaching or surpassing two terabytes, will be used to support the project's video security recording requirements.  VIEWpoint ESM appliances deliver real-time, multi-site situational awareness to security managers at any number of sites or into a centralized bank of monitors for enterprise-wide security surveillance.          

Collier Sparks, CEO and President of MDI, stated that, "Because the customer was a well-established financial institution in the Middle East, the level of its security requirements was very high.  They have relied heavily in the past on MDI's security solutions. In making the decision to expand on its use of MDI security solutions, they have demonstrated their confidence in the scalability and ease-of-use of the ONE Unified Technology platform."

Mr. Sparks went on to say that, "The installation with this particular Middle East financial institution is one of several new international opportunities that MDI is actively pursuing through its Global Systems Solutions group.  The GSS group provides consulting; design and professional services related to the sale and installation of enterprise grade security products. In most cases, MDI teams with very prominent government, defense and commercial enterprise contractors for the design, installation and implementation of these major security programs."

MDI re-entered the video security space in 2005 by launching its VIEWpoint Surveillance Management product line and it further strengthened its video capabilities through the acquisition of California-based Advanced Security Link in January of 2006.  VIEWpoint is now a key module in the ONE Unified Technology platform.
