Bosch launches new generation DVR with remote possibilities

Product Profile

Bosch Security Systems has launched the Divar MR, a new generation CCTV management technology that combines the very highest quality digital video recording with an ability to view and control cameras, handle alarms and monitor device status all through a common interface.

Suited to a wide range of retail, education and leisure applications, at its core the Divar MR provides simultaneous, real-time recording on up to 16 channels to the pixel resolution standard for video known as CIF (Common Intermediate Format).  When even higher resolution is needed, 4CIF (i.e. four times CIF resolution) is also an option.  The recorder uses MPEG-4 compression technology to significantly reduce bandwidth and increase its storage capability, whilst reducing the overall storage costs.

"Divar MR has a number of clever features that add to its convenience," explains Adam Breeze, Strategic Marketing Manager.  "For example, it allows users to view a number of live images and play back a scene simultaneously so that they can compare past and present events.  They can capture an event at the press of a button on the unit's front panel, and receive an email when an event occurs.  There is even a ‘smart search' feature that helps users find recorded images quickly and efficiently simply by looking for changes in a selected area."

The new system can be controlled either locally or remotely via the intuitive Divar MR Control Centre.  The Control Centre enables live viewing and playback, configuration and remote alarm notification.  All operations and controls can be centralised, and for further convenience, live images can also be viewed through Internet Explorer allowing users to keep in touch with their security from virtually anywhere in the world.

Other features include an overwrite protection capability to ensure the integrity of all recordings, and an ability to export such recordings to CD or DVD as well as USB devices as required.  An archive player is included in the external media for fast access to exported recordings, and includes an image authentication feature for images required as evidence in court.

Both eight and 16-channel versions of Divar MR are standard, and a variety of control and input options are available including mouse, CCTV keyboard, front panel (which includes a jog dial for even faster access) and IR remote control.  The unit is compatible with all other Bosch CCTV technology as well as third-party domes and PTZ cameras.
